WASLI - sponsoring?

WASLI – sponsoring a developing country

July 14-16 in Durban, South Africa sees interpreters from all over the world gathering for the ‘Think locally, act globally” conference. http://www.wasli.org/wasli-conference-14-16-july-2011-durban-p37.aspx   As with each conference they hold they try to ensure that access can be given to those interpreters who come from developing countries to attend so that they can learn from us in the ‘developed’ world and disseminate that information to their fellow interpreters. ASLI has been asked if it would like to sponsor an individual from one of those countries, as it has done in the past. So it’s time to look at your bank balance and consider can you ‘give up a day’s pay’? http://asli.org.uk/giving-up-a-day-s-pay-p136.aspx has more information on this scheme and contact details if you do feel you can support a fellow interpreter to attend conference.
