Work done by [interpreter] practitioners as a whole is predominantly in Access to Work settings[1]. Given the importance of ATW work to your career, income, and customers, it’s worth taking a little time to explore this area.
Led by Darren Townsend-Handscomb, this two hour workshop (with 2 x 15 minutes breaks) covers the essentials to make ATW interpreting work for you and your customers, and is likely to include:
Notes from the presenter: Please email questions and examples of issues to darren@moonpoppy.training before the webinar, so that, where possible, I can address those in the workshop. Also, please email me if you have learning needs that it would be useful for me to know about before the workshop.
NB, this is a workshop not webinar; and there will be opportunities for discussion, questions, and, depending on numbers, I will invite you to keep cameras on. There may be more to be covered that we can fit into this one workshop. If so, we may run an ATW workshop ‘part two’.
Presenter Biog: Darren Townsend-Handscomb is an interpreter, trainer, psychologist and coach. Darren has worked in the interpreting field for 30+ years, as staff and freelance, in every domain you can imagine (and some you certainly can’t). Amongst other things he runs DeafATW, an online and casework resource for Deaf people and interpreters. His interpreter training website is www.moonpoppy.training
