The Devon and Cornwall ASLI regional group is open to any ASLI member who lives or works in these two counties.
We provide support and information about interpreting to registered interpreters (and especially to ASLI members), people who are interested in the interpreting profession and people who wish to book interpreters. Our regional group is growing all the time and, due to the wide geography of our area, we keep in touch via the ASLI forums which members can access by logging into the ASLI website.
We hold meetings approximately every three months; these meetings often double as ‘skill-sharing sessions’ on topics such as medical, legal or employment interpreting. We vary the location of our meetings so that every member has an opportunity to attend at least once a year if they wish to. We also aim to hold a two-day training event annually, when an external trainer visits our region. We have strong links with our local Deaf communities and key local services. We are always keen to welcome new members and anyone may attend any of our meetings as a visitor.
