East Midlands Region
Welcome to the East Midlands Region.
We cover Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Lincolnshire and welcome any ASLI member who lives and works in this area.
We meet bi-monthly, usually in Nottingham or Derby, rotating Tuesday/Wednesday evenings 7-9pm to give as many members chance to come as possible. Each meeting usually involves half an hour of information sharing, followed by a training/discussion session. The session is sometimes led by a regional member, sometimes a guest trainer/speaker. We are a very active region with a diverse range of skills and experience and we find that our meetings are a great way of us getting together, supporting each other and sharing knowledge.
Apart from the bi-monthly sessions, we organise free or heavily discounted half-day and one-day training on Saturdays. The next training event is shortly to be confirmed and booking will open soon. It should be a great day!
We have an East Midlands discussion forum, which members can access by logging onto the Members Area on the website. We are always keen to welcome new members and any interpreter can attend a meeting as a one-off as a visitor. We are a very supportive group and are keen to provide advice and information to local interpreters and our Deaf and hearing clients.
If you're new to the area, get in touch, it'd be great to hear from you.
Please contact the Regional Contact Tom Scoggins for further information.
